The Next Chapter - The Not Knowing

7.25.21 - Accidently didn't hit publish...

As time has passed and I've grown into this next chapter of life that I didn't document for this community, I've come to a place of acceptance that my expectations for what I expected of myself the last decade at Knowing and what birthed from the same are bigger than you or I.

Long before Knowing and Whole & Balanced Living, I was keeping a private blog with link only access. A blog I've been recently instructed to return to for review, as I do the sacred work of healing trauma around my father's passing Christmas Day, 2020.

Before I had the name for the 5 Claires life. Before I had the name for Lipedema, the genetic mess I deal with and have been dealing with since puberty. Before I knew that spirit and all that is or ever will be for us humans affirmed that we never really die. Before I reclaimed my worth and unapologetically started following my pulls, downloads and nudges.

With ownership of all of the above comes vulnerability. Allowing people in who know, who see the shift in my energies and eyes when I'm not at the wheel, an exercise in trust.

Nothing hurt more over the years that having someone you love and trusted, embraced, who supposedly accepted it all, turn and run from it all. When someone who's all in starts questioning and calling you crazy. When they're injecting dark beliefs and dark thoughts into the light.

My softer side really wishes things could be as they were with that person, versus fear and mental health struggles taking them away from what we were building that was bigger than either of us. I even still pray and send this person reiki love, protection and healing energies.

Nonetheless, as I heal what happened the last few years that I had no control over, I am remembering who I was and who I am today, beyond the limiting thoughts or belief systems came to rest in my being here and there along the journey.

I'm grateful for what today holds. For the light in the darkness. For the knowing. For the 5 Claires life. For having a vision, purpose and calling.

Most of all, I'm grateful for my dots along the journey that have brought wisdom, passion, and love into my life. I love my tribe and my life by design people.

Expiration Dates

When we go to the grocery store, the FDA makes sure we know the shelf life of the goods we buy. We get a warning of what's to come and how to handle what we consume. Wouldn't it be nice if Life had the same labels for people and situations. Think about it.

How many times have you held onto people or situations in your life that were past their shelf life? Careers that were unfulfilling. The boss you worked too long with.  The bad sublet you stayed in when it would of been better to move on.  Relationships with roommates that weren't flowing.  Lovers that were toxic.  Family members who needed healthy boundaries.  Being stuck when you know the fastest way out of stuck is just acting to protect your authentic self.  Even some friendships can have a shelf life if they're not evolving, too.

Remember that reason, season, lifetime scenario? We need to stop sticking and staying by situations and people who don't bring us peace and happiness. This thing we do as humans of expanded consciousness, of guilting ourselves into loving everyone unconditionally in a way that allows them in, it has a time and a place. It's not a catch all to commit no matter what.  We need to learn how to leave situations.  We also need to learn how to leave people alone.  We can and we should separate ourselves from those not serving our greatest good.

Yes, we do learn through contrast. But, once we learn the lessons, we also must learn to leave people alone and how to let go when the situations and dynamics no longer suit us.  People should feel good.  Work should feel good.  Life, when we are thriving, it feels good.

Stop hanging onto the "spoiled fruit." We cannot pick, hold and consume the "good fruit" when we do that. We have to decide. Decide to feel good. Decide to let go. Remember that. I love you.

Triggers - Feelings Vs Fear

Every story in our head can be rewritten. In life, each moment we are breathing, it's another chance to course correct.

Negative emotions, so many of us, we run from them. We hide behind food, alcohol, pills, etc. We run in fear from feeling. We don't have to live on that vibration though. We can chart a different way of deliberate intent. We can co-create anything we get into alignment with.

The key to getting there though, it's the feeling. The feeling is what sets us free. Don't be afraid to feel. To navigate it. To grow through it. Our feelings create our life because they send out our belief system into the Universe. The best part of feeling, is owning it. Of allowing it to just be as it is. Once we know what doesn't feel good, we can get about the business of creating what feels right. Trust and believe, it can all serve your greater good. If you let it. FEEL.

Remember that. I love you.

Dots Along The Journey

Life, it's never dull around here. I have a father in the throws of dementia and fading away, most days not even knowing who I am, or how much he loves me. A mom who lives in the opposite direction travel wise, not feeling herself, in and out doctors and hospitals, afraid of what's ahead for both of us. Afraid of being a burden. Oh the lies we tell ourselves when we are vulnerable. Family, love, it's NEVER A BURDEN.

Yet, despite these consuming life stresses, and having my entire world turned upside down about 90 days ago as it pertains to best friends and my volunteer/work life, I can see the dots.

I now see how one of my closest cheerleaders on this Lipedema healing journey, since I learned its name in 2012, how her betrayal and mean girl behaviors pushed me to own my truths, and to move away from that which wasn't healthy for me. How the most painful experiences were catalysts for change.

What wasn't making me happy, had to go. She wasn't making me happy. My volunteer work for another wasn't making me happy either. Not owning my truths, those truths, was making me uneasy, and unwell. In the end, she set me free.

Reciprocal relationships, those make me happy. Healthy, that makes me happy too. Thriving, now that makes me the happiest. It was time my day-to-day relationships evolved in alignment with my body, and my healing.

You see, you tolerate a lot of bad behaviors from people when you don't have a grasp on your own self worth, when you are unwell. I swore when I found the courage to leave my ex-husband who was verbally abusive (over 8 years ago), that I would not repeat patterns of the past. That I would take however much time I needed to heal from that. I honestly thought I had done so.
Thing is, I hadn't. Even with continued therapy. Not completely. The events of June showed me that truth.

I found myself instead around, and in love with, narcissistic personalities. Supposed friends who had no follow through to ever really treat me the way I treat people. Both persons showed their true colors when my back acted up in February. Those March ripples broke shore as violent waves come June. By July, I was done. Shattered, and ready to move forward, drama free, healthy, whole, and at peace.

So, that brings us to today. And, today is freedom.
Yesterday, I did a damn thing. I allowed myself to be filmed, talking about this fucking disease Lipedema and all that it has done to me, and made me, in the last 30 years. 30 YEARS. 30 YEARS!!!!

I was vulnerable. I was raw. I hid nothing. I owned it all.  Every mistake.  Every lesson. This is me. Beautiful, fragile, and once broken by Lipedema, me. An hour of showing, educating, and just being unapologeticly, me. I laughed. I cried. It was, without a doubt, an exercise in expansion. The hardest and best thing I have done yet since knowing its name.

I know that I own this disease now, that it doesn't own me anymore. I also know that if we never give up, the dots will connect. We will get to eventually see what's being drawn before us.

We get so hung up in the how. We really have to remember to just trust in the process, trust in the pulls. I started going public two years ago, and became intentional 90 days ago. Had I not done those things, been fearless, owned its name, I would not of just had the opportunity I had.

The people who hurt me, the mean girl who used to comment on every transformation photo, who wanted me to get made up, dress nice, and GET THE GUY, she in turn gave me the best parting gift in her wake of damage and betrayal. A reminder of my self worth. A reminder that, as my grandma Irene once said, WE ARE THE DREAM.

That gift allowed me to be who I was yesterday, talking about Lipedema, just not giving a fuck, and being fearless. Those painful experiences with her equalled a resolve and peace I had forgotten I could procure.

Jealousy and addiction does crazy things to people. Love them anyway, just from afar. After all, they're struggling and evolving just like the rest of us.

Then, it hit me hard, thinking about it all, the dots to be able to even handle yesterday. Like an avalanche, as my stomach was turning in nervousness yesterday morning, it all came full circle. If I was losing my mind the last week reliving 30 years of the dream and trauma attached to it, sane and sober, how in the world did someone I love ever do it unwell and addicted? Talk about it all coming full circle. About compassion. About, twinning, and timing. Yes, twinning. Oh yeah, I own that too these days. No fear. No regrets.

See, that's the thing about never giving up. You don't get to see the beauty of it all unless you stick and stay long enough.

Please, never give up on your own fights. Somewhere along the way you're connecting someone else's dots, just as someone else is connecting yours. Remember that, I love you.

You deserve to be well, too.

The Shift

It was December 30, 2009.  I had ended a decade long relationship of love and toxic turmoil earlier that year, with a man I *know* I was tied to in a "way beyond this place" planned life.  My pulls are never wrong, ever.

Since that time, I've treaded lightly in love, from not allowing myself to get close to "what I know" won't last, to cautiously believing in 2015, that I was on my way to a mutually respectful relationship headed towards a "real" marriage.  Instead, my heart was shattered by a coward.  Which, in the big picture, is OKAY.   Okay because my grandmother taught me, there's no room in a woman's life for a man without a spine to do the right thing.  Add to that the deaths of 2 other men I let into my day-to-day art of living these past 8 years, and well, needless to say, I've stayed single. Purposely single. Healing.

I haven't given up on love, on true partnership, on another pull walking into my life and rocking my world.  Just as I never lost the love I have towards the one I had to walk away from.  I will always love him from afar.  I will always be energetically tied to him.  I can tell you on any given day what mood he is in, or even when he thinks about me.  I will always love and appreciate what I learned in my time with him, raising his daughter as my own, enjoying the healthy days of energy between us, and becoming a strong woman walking away from them both (couldn't take her with me) to a healthier life, one free of his sociopathic, controlling, & narcissistic ways.

God has a way of allowing us to create peace in any pain. We just have to look for the things to be grateful for in the situation, once removed from it. The 20+ years I spent knowing both the pull and the coward, I believe, laid the foundation, for whatever comes next for me. That one day, I'll have what was good and right about both of them, manifested in someone else. One taught me to trust my pulls. The other taught me that someone can and will love my Lipedema body, love me, accept me, with paranormal activities,  and everything that comes along with being a light, and a healer. That I can be me, 100% in my own skin.  A real partner, a best friend. No walls. No boundaries. Just effortless being. Yes, that's what's ahead. And, I'm happy being solo until I get it! Eight years later, I know my worth.  I hope you know yours. You're priceless. Remember that, I love you.

Walking The Talk - Faith > Fear

While visiting with my sweet friend Serena today, a friend whom I'd not seen since high school that I'd reconnected with on Facebook, she brought up a "name" in our mix of conversation, a simple inquiry as to how that person in question was. Immediately, as in micro-expression immediately, my energy shifted, and it was ridiculously apparent (in a good way) that the person she was asking about has an effect on my being unlike any other person in my world right now.  And, as much as I've tried of late to stuff that away, and NOT acknowledge it, more and more people seem to cross my path or our paths inquiring as to what's going on in my life with said person.

My initial knee jerk reaction is that it's NOT what they think they see or observe. I almost feel like that story about how God throws pebbles to get your attention, and then you don't listen, so it becomes rocks, then bricks, and then boulders! It's one thing if one person says it. Or, when one of your psychic medium friends says it came through a conversation she was having gardening, and you're soooooo head over heals elsewhere, you're rolling your eyes on the phone muttering to yourself "whatever, he's wrong chica, it's not like that, you'll see" seven months ago. But, it's an entirely another thing when they say it, the deceased say it, and then a long ass line of random, not so random friends and acquaintances say it. Over, and over, and over again.

Maybe I'm blind. Maybe I'm so wrapped up in my family, my work, my health and the music and nature that sustains me, that I'm just not focused on it. Maybe I can't let what they see into my psyche, because I feel that I'm not ready for that kind of a connection with another person right now.

When peppered with the endless questions as of late, my brutal and honest answers have been, "I don't really know. They're not typically my type or someone I would covet, I don't date '_________' (profession), I just adore them. No, really. (straight face) I never date them, I just love on them. Shocker, I know. However, I do understand what you're saying about the energy. There is something there that binds us, that I can't articulate or put my finger on, an easiness and flow...." followed by "Yeah, you're certainly not the first person to say that or ask that or comment on your observations either. Seriously though, I really don't know. I do love them, and would do anything for them, but they're not even my *type*, and it's not a romantic love."

I do "know" though. No matter how much I deny it, I flipping know.  It's been creeping up on me like a dang stealthy ninja. I also know the timing isn't right to even think about the possibility of it. So, why am I griping about timing?

Simply because I know that I'm using the next year of my life to get a strong handle on this Lipedema thing, the one single thing that holds me back from thinking I'm worthy of what I want in life, which is for someone to see me for the beautiful and amazing human being that I am, and to love me fearlessly and protect me steadfastly to the ends of the earth. There. I said it. I look at the package, of what this fat disease has done to my body, and it makes me fucking cringe. Bad. So, because it makes me cringe, I allow myself to believe and accept that it makes males cringe too. Therein lies my greatest obstacle at present, thinking that I'm limited by something I have zero control over, that's hereditary with no real cure, and going to be with me until the moment I take my last breath. Something that I also believe I can change. Just google images of Amanda Arlauskas. She was diagnosed on The Biggest Loser Season 9 with Lipedema. That diagnosis wasn't televised, but it explained to her why some fat just isn't going to go anywhere without a special type of surgery that back then was only practiced outside of the USA. Granted, girlfriend doesn't have my calves (which one is equal to the circumference of my waist, wrap your head around that bullshit), but still, she's an inspiration to all Lipedema ladies worldwide.

So, in following my own advice, I have to ask myself hard questions. Maybe fear is driving the wheel versus faith. Maybe I've lost so many, and so much the last few years, that in the back of my head, I know that grief is in equal measure to that which we love. Maybe I'm afraid to get close, to love and to possibly lose. Not because it doesn't work out, but because they die. Maybe I'm so put off by this energy that I question whether or not it's real, or if it's what everyone else thinks they see. Yeah, I must be blind. Or in denial. Either way, that's not healthy either.

The stroke in December taught me that I love A LOT of people in my life and in turn, A LOT of people love me. I've never been one to easily allow other people's love in though, even though I fearlessly love upon others. It's just how I'm made and I work every darn day to allow reciprocal relationships into my life. In fact, 2015 was the year of the reciprocal relationship. I told myself I was pruning away anyone and everyone that didn't cut it, who wouldn't do for me as I would do for them. It was tough and I let go of people I wanted to hang onto who weren't healthy for me.

Knowing how easy it is to lose, I know that life is special and fleeting. That time waits for no one, and that we have to follow our pulls in life, both with friends and with lovers. Many people say they want to be in a relationship with a best friend, to have that bond. I have many male friends, some of whom are best friends and in all honesty, I'm not "pulled" towards any of them in that way that would one day pull us out of the friend zone. As for my "different energy" friend that everyone is squawking about, I consider myself dang special to have that kind of friend in my life, someone who others say makes me glow or float about my day-to-day art of living simply because of that energy and our unexplained connection.

You see, I knew when two of my departed friends left this world that somehow, someway, someone (or two, or three) would come along to light up those dark and empty places that they left behind in me. That one day I'd meet a new metaphysical junkie, a new muse, a new creative force, and a new fan of Knowing's writings/my work/downloads/nudges. I just didn't know it might all be the same person. Ooooppps. Good one gentlemen, good one. You got me there.

People have come and gone in my life, and those I care for the most, my tribe, they've become lifers. I collect them, cherishing those things about them that make them special and beautiful as people. It's been written by many astrology experts that Aquarians have issues with confusing love and friendship. To that I say, why can't one have both? Why can't happily ever after be a progression of both? There's no rhyme or reason to energies and affairs of the heart. What will be will be and when you "know"....you freaking "know."  Yet, I'm over here in serious denial, or blissfully unaware. Then again, maybe I'm not supposed to "know" when it comes to this one. Maybe the "knowing" is blocked in that area so that I don't analyze it to the point of paralysis, or jump the gun.

At least it will help in that I'm also not a "chaser" either, meaning if someone wants something more from me than a friendship, I'm not the one whose going to pursue it. I'm old fashioned like that. If a man has an interest, he'll show it. If I have an interest, I'll reciprocate. It really is as simple as that. See, I live my life using the things I share with others as my tools for survival: Intention, trust, intuition and belief.

I intend to love myself fearlessly and protect myself to the ends of the earth first, before I can allow another to do the same. I trust that the Universe is going to manifest someone who is as intoxicated with me as I am with them. I sense that when it happens, that I'll feel it from within or it will be so evident that I can't hide it, which might be what happened today within that micro-expression and energy shift. I believe that it's possible, and that I'm worthy of that kind of life long connection. The kind that makes you better because you heal. Because you want to shine bright and be your best self simply because someone else is there with you, sharing that journey who inspires you to do so. Someone you learn from and lean on, and someone you in turn reciprocate all those traits back towards. Someone who can receive the love you have to give, as well as give it. In the end, I think we're all worth this. Remember that. I love you.

Into The Great Wide Open

2016 started in grand memorable fashion, greeting myself, my mom, my son and a friend with one heck of an illness that I picked up during my own December hospitalization.  One that would linger for weeks and place my mom in the hospital for couple of them, including a scary week in ICU.  We're all gratefully on the mend now and digging out from multiple feet of snow thanks to Winter Storm Jonas.

There's something to a big winter storm.  It makes you focus.  You have to be prepared and have a good attitude about it or you'll be miserable during the entire thing.  And guess what, it's not going to change because of your mood so you might as well embrace it.  Being stuck at home for 8 days solo was an interesting test of spirit as well.  Thank goodness for power and all its creature comforts i.e. phone calls with the outside world, texts, the internet.  Being forced to be still however still makes one think. A lot.  Reading is normal around here but there was much more of that happening too.

I know I've written here recently about pushing myself outside of my comfort zones.  Heck, I just let hair dye touch my head after 16 years.  Those who know me well figured hell would be frozen over for that one to happen.  True story.  Look.  My regular hair dresser doesn't do color and laying in that hospital post stroke, I wanted a change and to do stuff I'd thought about but not pulled the trigger on yet in life.  My friend Teresa from high school did a fantastic job giving me something natural and low maintenance.  I couldn't be happier.  Anyone in Northern Virginia can find her at her salon TJ's Hair Studio.  Special thanks to my friend Deri for that awesome hair makeover gift too!  She's only bugged me to do it since we reconnected on Facebook years ago.

After image no flash.  Work and picture by Teresa at TJ's Hair Studio in Alexandria, VA.

While I've made peace with last summer and the lessons it brought, I'll be honest and say I'm also realizing I'm in a transitional place personal life.  There's something about facing your own bumps in the road such as my recent hospitalization and then virus picked up there after when I got home that ravaged my family that makes you look back.  You can't help it being forced to be still.  The mind likes to go where it wants and it's our discernment that determines how amuck it runs.

I can remember thinking how nice it would of been to not facing those obstacles without him, to have that comfort and love.  Him being the one who couldn't even make a phone call when I was sitting in another hospital with my own father one Saturday evening in August.  The one who no longer gets to run his fingers through that hair or receive the "before and after" hair cut day photos by text while at work.  Knowing what I learned in hindsight, I feel as if the Universe was preparing me for the next experiences down the road.  That's what I'm at peace with, the process.  I can see now where that pain of "not having" though in those recent struggles in turn opened me up to one day wanting someone special around again.  Before them, I was content just going without and with human nature, that's not exactly normal.  We're built to be together.

Knowing this, I've been pruning back certain areas in order to make room for new growth.  I have this idea in my head that I need to get the parents situations behind me and my Lipedema (google it, it sucks, but it doesn't define me - well, I'm learning it doesn't) treated before moving forward to allow myself to be open again.  Therein is the problem, I'm playing the "when this happens, then this will be" game and that's just silly.  Life happens.  Pulls happen.  There's never a better time than the present moment.

I'm not stupid though.  I know if I need to have some things in order to not have them cloud the now, that I should wait and do said things before endeavoring to go there.  In the six years since I left Jennifer's father, I've spent more of it alone than with another person.  And that's okay because I knew what needed to happen in my own life to not carry forth the past onto the present.

Lets just say it's safe to say I'm darn careful about who meets my son too.  Two got to that point and I'm bummed in a way it even happened because Tristan then has to learn to navigate loss and more change in his life.  Aspergers and typically the autistic in general don't like change. Hard to believe he's 20 months away from being an adult but yeah, if I can spare him another heartache, I'll continue to keep my personal life and him separated until such time as I know it's worth bringing him into the fold.

Part of doing things undone is staying open.  As such, I've decided to stay open while giving myself 2016 to tidy up where things are in life, especially with a high school graduation on the horizon in 2018, ailing parents and my own calendar keeping me grounded and on the go.  It's not that I can't or I won't, it's just that I'm not procuring. I'm living day in and day out enjoying my surroundings, my people and the memories we're making.  What's rather interesting is that I recently learned that I have a few in my circle who for their own reasons, are basically doing the same thing.  How do you like those apples?  Birds of a feather flock together. Into the great wide open we go.  Wherever the destination, it shall be worth it.  Remember that.  I love you.

Taking Inventory - Masterful Choices

November 7, 2015

Time, it really doesn't stop when we do.  I find myself mere hours away from another date that's bittersweet, reflecting on what was and hanging on for life to the here and now.  Not a day goes by that I don't think about those who've gone home.  This time of year however is different now.  I find myself for about six weeks or so struggling to stay in a place of acceptance.  Of making sense of it all.  Of holding onto what was right for the 3 years I was honored to know Thomas Grant IV, versus getting angry or bitter over what was taken away from us all.

The last month, my favorite time of year, and in all honesty, my favorite month, has been more than interesting for 2015.  Given the battle within, October brought with it a whirlwind reprieve of discoveries and aha moments.  So much so that I had to start keeping track just to make sure I was in fact, not losing my mind over what I was experiencing.  Anyone who knows me and interacts with me can tell you that I find joy in the whimsy of life that makes one wonder.  To repetitively have information and evidence of the things unseen is enough to make anyone's head spin.  It's not like I'm special either.  My understanding and experiences have been that we can all do it.  We can all tune in and connect.  Seriously, I'm not special when it comes to these things (repetitive, absolutely!).  We can all sit here in stupefied awe at the wonders of it all.

As I navigate the last of this year, instead of being sad or letting winter bring its blues, I'm staying mindful in focusing on the gratitude.  Focusing on those things which I've learned, that which has brought positive growth, and memories of what lies ahead.  Being grateful for the pulls in life too has helped.  I tell you what, when you take inventory of them, of the pulls and the wins, and list to digest what each and every pull has brought you forward in your journey, you step back in utter awe of it all.  You get under your skin this invisible cloak of trust.  A way of operating in the world wherein you listen to what guides you from within.  You become fearless and when you do fall, you don't stay down for long before you decide to get back up again.

Is it easy to be this way?  Heck no.  It takes a whole lot of mindfulness and endless practice.  It's truly a moment by moment thing sometimes.  We experience.  We react.  We reflect.  We plan.  Then we go at it all over again.

Is it worth it?  You bet your sweet ass it is.  Is sure beats the flip side of being down in the muck with the darkness, slave to our circumstances.  I don't wish that darkness upon anyone, not even my least favorite people.  Doubt, fear and feeling pitiful are part of the human condition.  However, they're not the destination.  They're simply hurdles to jump as we progress on down the road.  I've long been told and believe that we're our greatest victor as well as our most annoying opponent in life.  Kudos to my extended family and friends for keeping me mindful of the true battle in life, the battle of the mind.   Without a doubt, it's the greatest thing we'll ever learn to master.

Remember that.
I love you.

In The Driver's Seat - Making Right Choices

Interesting what a month plus of daily meditation and yoga will do for the soul.  Back in May I started this venture, to actively be mindful each day, to have focus over my thoughts verses my thoughts just racing as they like to do for all of us if we let them.  The average person has 70,000 thoughts a day.  Everything from what's for breakfast to what we're going to wear.  70,000!!!  Most of which we allow to be on auto-pilot.

Nothing wrong with racing per say, sometimes racing can be good.  The racing of positive thoughts builds an environment wherein a vibration is created that expands additional good feelings.  As with all things in the Universe however, in all things of like attract like, racing with panicky, obsessive, stressful, or doubtful thoughts does the exact same thing.  It creates a vibration that expands into additional bad feelings and eventually those bad feelings expand into a greater life experience of those negative emotions.

Those of us who leave up to fate what unfolds into our lives aren't getting it.  Our thoughts and energies are what create our experience here.  We are the ones behind the wheel driving the journey.  Some people we meet along the road hitch a ride for a short distance.  We pick them up into our lives and we drop them off.  Others we sometimes grow so comfortable with as they ride along, we sometimes allow them to take over the drive.  This can be a dicey decision in that very few others we'll meet will respect the direction and course we've set out upon enough to follow along the same path.  In fact, the more positive a direction you're headed in, the more peaceful you become in your evolution of self, the more it will seem as if your companions on the ride (life) will question or attempt to inhibit your progress.

Why is that?  Why is it that you can decide to be in a healthy and positive place yet someone you love and trust can assert that you're anything but?  Why is it that the sky can be blue and sunny but someone out there will complain about what it isn't instead of giving gratitude to what it is?  These character issues, they have nothing to do with you and your path.  When you are in peace, happiness and gratitude living, fact is, some people just can't handle it.  Others only see what they allow themselves to see.  Perception is like that, you either see what you want or what you don't want.  Either way, it's on course to meet you where you are.  Either way, the problem is with them and not with you.

Here's an example of what I'm saying, if we act in life from what we don't want i.e. I worry about someone I love being homeless or making wrong choices for their life, because I don't want them to suffer, my intentions for them are coming from a place of the unwanted.  The Universe doesn't know the difference, it doesn't know that I don't want the person to suffer.  All it knows is that I'm thinking about the person suffering.

On the flip side, if I think about what I want for the person from a place of serenity and trust, if I learn to map it out in a way that's positive and that feels good, I in turn will feel good and by default attract that positiveness into my life.  So, in the case of the person I fear suffering, I turn the fear off and feel love.  Love that the person is alive, that the person is experiencing life and learning valuable lessons that will one day create a well rounded person who knows what they want in life.  By doing this I feel good and am in control of the drive.  See how that works?

So yes, thoughts do become people, places, opportunities and things.  Good, bad or indifferent, it's just law. You're in the driver's seat of life and you get to decide each moment you're awake the environment you travel in and who's along for the ride.  Take the scenic route and travel in good company when you can.  Trust me, it makes for a more enjoyable journey.

Floating with the Current

Been pondering this for sometime now and I wanted to share it with all of you.  There is someone in my life who's reached out lately, someone who in the past has hurt me repeatedly, the last time of which created a serious distance between us.  Someone I don't trust, even though I love the person with every fiber of my being.  This person isn't as experienced as I am with life but they do know right from wrong.  It's been difficult for me to act in love and receive this person back into my life knowing what I know now about them.  While I hope their intentions are pure, my instincts are at odds.  So, it's been an emotional quandary of sorts.  Do I continue to let them in?  Do I let them in but have my guard up?  Do I even bother anymore trying to help them navigate their path in life?  Do I allow them in cautiously but nonetheless allow them in?

Intention, what we want from the Universe, we have to FEEL it.  If I want this person to continue to be a part of my life, I know I can't have an underpinning of doubt about their place in it.  That doubt is a feeling and that feeling will manifest itself.  I've been watching it already happen.  One day we're making strides and the next day it's same ol', same ol' situation.  It's tough.

I know I can't control what another person says, does or becomes in life but I do have control over how I personalize or receive their actions in the world.  I can decide if I'm being manipulated or really missed.  I can decide to have a wall or not have a wall up in dealing with them too.  All that I've learned about intention though says you can't want A while thinking about B because then A & B are at odds and in the end, you'll never end up with what you wanted with the A scenario or feeling.  Darn perfect thing that intention is.

So, here I am floating with the current of life being extremely mindful of what I'm feeling.  Each time I feel as if I'm being used to fill a void or get something, I pivot that feeling to open my heart and feel love.  Each time I'm told a lie, I remember to pivot it so that I don't take it personally.  Lying is what this person does, until they decide that they're not going to do it.  Other people's bad behaviors aren't about us, they're about them.  Really, it's as simple as that.

You see, I've learned that if I'm going to get a negative it's not going to be because I manifested it by feeling it.  If I get a negative it's on the one giving it, not on me.  I can at this juncture hope for the best, all the while protecting myself and those I love.  I can build a bridge and care.  I can allow this person to show me they're making a better path for their journey.  The person already has a pretty good map.  Now all they need to do is follow the directions.  In the meanwhile, I'll be available for advice should the need to ask for directions when they get lost.  Grateful that I'm smart enough to not be a backseat driver on their journey too.  This life, they have to drive it on their own.

Calling it Forward ~ Live the Life You Love, Love the Life You Live

As life has evolved the past year I have certainly noticed a theme for this chapter of my life.  Truth and accountability.  I have repeatedly found myself in situations with various persons wherein I have had to examine myself, their place in my life and use my voice.  At times I have to create healthy boundaries as well, doing things that I sure didn't see coming and letting go of people whom I have loved since they were small children.  Things that hurt on so many levels but nonetheless things that had to be done for all involved.  On the other side of the hurt and action I will say there is peace.  You do however have to go through the doing to get there though.

As the new year approaches I am optimistic that as I continue to clear away that which isn't beneficial in my life that I am in turn opening up additional space for that which is.  This past year has also had within it many manifestations of things I wished to call forward in this life.  New knowledge, resources, inspiration, amazing people, fantastic memories and even a couple of candidates worthy (and not worthy) of "the list."  As many of you have told me, I probably should of put local on that "list" but it's all good really, what will be will be, in it's own time, in its own place.  I trust in that.  Who knows, that time may even be this year.

The knowledge that has come has been life changing.  It started last January with juicing raw fruits and vegetables.  It literally transformed my life and opened the door to additional food and drink intake changes. Changes that when mixed with the opportunity to frequent the local Health and Fitness Club solidified the transformation in my life that I'd been playing with for years.  For the first time in my 37 years of living my father (who compliments no one) complimented my appearance on multiple occasions.  Not that I needed his words but having them sure was the cherry on top of the sundae of life.  I am now past the half point of my self imposed goals and the best part is the changes being made are moving me in the direction of the authentic self.  The girl who loved to chase the soccer ball around the field, the girl who went away to the beach on a whim for a day or two, who traveled near and far to see the bands she loves.  Yes, and this return of authentic self all started with the vitality and energy that juicing gave me.

I also called forward more enriching relationships with friends.  New friends near and far who just make my life better because they are who they are.  Friends who make me laugh daily, who bring a smile to my face, friends whom I want to make match maker with (cough, cough, you know who you are don't you.....February 9th is coming....bahahahaha), friends who teach me new things about my evolving spirituality and paranormal abilities.  This past year I had my mind blown learning I had done something in a dream I had never even knew existed.  Had I not had the affirmation of the same, I still wouldn't believe it.  Oh yea, my head is still spinning from that experience.  Now, if I could just do it again.  And again.  And again.  Better yet, if the others involved could remember it too.  I know that part's possible, I did that as a teenager. To the person involved in this experience, thank you, you know who you are.

Our little community at Knowing has evolved as well.  We have grown from 2500 members to over 4300 in the last year, almost doubling in size.  All because we want to share and be inspired by each other.  I love this.  I learn something from each of you who open yourselves up to share things on our Facebook page.  New music, new thoughts, affirmative words.  We even have a regular contributor now, Mr. Leonard Bowles from Oregon in the United States.  It is all so yummy and exactly as I had dreamed it would be.  After much nudging this year from many of you I finally committed to organizing all of the thoughts of the past few years into a book, with the goal being publishing it on my own this coming year.  Alas, another beautiful thing in life being called forward.

Fact is, without each of you, I wouldn't be where I am today on the journey.  This past year had loss, sadness and a whole bunch of acceptance of what cannot be changed.  Through all of it, through watching children mourn the loss of their mother too soon, to letting go of the one who to me was just as my own flesh and blood, those who mattered the most stayed the course with me through the pain and brought a smile to my face.  Yes, your roles in my life, they were called forward too.  The deeper this gets, the more magical and miraculous it all seems.  Thank you.  Please, if you haven't all ready, get busy calling your own life forward.  I promise you, you will have zero regrets.  I love you.

Perspective & Peace - We Control Both

I was recently going through the files on an old computer, cleaning off some old ones while adding news ones.  I don't think it's random that I was adding the audio files for The Silva Method program given to me by a colleague who shares my interest in the paranormal when I stumbled upon some eye opening writings of mine from 2007.  Specifically, I found entries from Valentine's Day 2007, three and a half months before my ex's daughter would come to live with her father (us) full-time.  Valentine's Day, the subject of a blog entry this past February regarding surprise gifts from the universe this year.  I just looked back on my life, summarizing my history with the Holiday and here I find myself reading journal entries from that very day five years ago.

Reading my words from that day on the old computer moved me to tears.  It was such a solid affirmation of why I had to make the difficult choices I did end up making later in the journey, including walking away from a child I loved as my own to save my own sanity and my son's.  I was suffering so badly back then, struggling with what I knew I should be doing verses what I was in fact doing.  By not honoring my authentic self I was creating a dark place in my life.  I am still in shock that I was allowing myself to live in the environment I wrote of, experiencing things that changed who I was at that time.  My career and friendships were the only things that were true to who I was.  Everything else though was in turmoil.  I wouldn't wish upon anyone what I was living with.  Believe me, your environment has the power to effect you in good ways and in bad.  If you're verbally abused, it changes who you are, it warps your expectations and your belief of what you're capable of, and it modifies your belief in what you feel that you deserve.  Reading those words was life changing.  Looking back to that day of journal entries has no doubt even forever changed my life from this point forward today.

I am extremely grateful that I was able to navigate away from what I was living with back then.  How did I get from there to here though?  My thoughts.  I hung onto my faith in the darkness and eventually mustered the personal strength to walk away from that negative and toxic situation.  I was able to do so because, despite the darkness, I continued to reach out to God, to authors and to information that fostered within me the self worth and belief that what I thought did in fact matter.  I decided to think and create the life I longed to have and wanted verses the life I didn't want and was living.

In my business we say that if you buy someone's opinion that you buy their lifestyle.  The dark times of my life were spent buying someone else's opinion and living that lifestyle was the ultimate price to pay.  Know this, you have within you everything you need to learn to buy your own opinion and create your own lifestyle.  No matter what you've been through up until this moment, as surely as you are breathing right now, there is still hope for a different way of life.

You see, the life you are living today is directly related to the thoughts you allowed to dominate your life yesterday, last week, last month, and last year.  You can't change the path you have walked through today but you can change where the path leads simply by listening to your thoughts and honoring your authentic self and what it is trying to tell you.  You can do that today, in the here and now.

You deserve to be whole, to be cherished, to heal, to be loved and to be happy.  If anyone in your life doesn't add to that, including yourself, do something about it.  Life is too precious, short and fleeting to keep hanging on to those who don't honor you and your place in this world.  Life is too magnificent to hold yourself hostage to the past or to believe in negative, limiting and controlling thoughts as well.  The time is now, the place is here and regrets are painful.  Decide today to be in charge of your perspective and claim your peace.  Trust me, it's beautiful.

Golden Rule Living & Your Dominant Thoughts

An interesting series of conversations with friends has transpired this last twenty-four hours.  Centering around acceptance of our paths and the power of our intentions we have discussed kindness, gratitude, happiness and the things that really matter in life such as respect, family and friendship.  I'd like to share the commonalities of each for I truly believe the universe has a message for all of us in them.

Lets start with kindness.  Kindness in my opinion is simply golden rule living.  You see, The Golden Rule, it is the foundation of all universal life laws.  By doing onto others as we would have them do onto us, we are sewing seeds in the universe of kindness, respect, appreciation, and love.  All too often though, as we navigate the journey, we have noticed that we are surrounded though by the exact opposite of the golden rule.

I see it all the time when out and about in the day to day activity of living.  People are in a rush, they cut each other off in traffic, race to be first to the ATM, speak before thinking about their words and are selfish in their motives.  Just yesterday I saw where my friends daughter called out someone on Facebook who'd taken a handicapped parking space who wasn't handicapped, simply to beat her to the ATM machine.  I mean really, what was so important to not park in the next space over?

It is as if those acting rude and not in kindness are also acting out of fear of loss.  Fear that if they're not first, that if they're not tartly spoken, etc. that somehow they're going to miss out on something.  Worst yet, a portion of society acts this way in pursuit of success.  This simply isn't true though.  When we act in kindness and sew the seeds of good deeds we are putting a frequency into the universe of the same which in turn opens us to receive through the universal law of attraction.

Take for instance my one friend who has been giving his time to his friends and family to do good deeds that the universe has put upon his heart.  He could instead decide to put that time into his career and work but he instead wishes to be a servant leader to his family member and a selfless friend in the mix of his daily responsibilities.  Sadly though, the majority of society does not operate at this level.  People are so out of balance.  They take, take and take some more without giving back that which they are capable of, not realizing that by having predominant thoughts of taking they are simply creating that "it's never enough" "we need something better, something more" sense of lack.

By finding gratitude for everything we are blessed with we are also opening up ourselves to the frequency of abundance and success as well.  Ever notice how much those people who aren't grateful suck the life out of you whereas those people who are grateful give you energy?  Think about your colleagues, your friendships and your family.  How does each person make you feel when you're interacting with them?  See, it really is that simple.  This is why it's so important to pay attention to the energy around you as well as the energy you're giving out to others.

If you're working in a profession that leaves you without energy, one that creates an imbalance in your family life, your friendships and your love life, then you need to pay attention to that lack of energy.  If you are chasing after tangible things so fiercely that you're missing out on what really matters, then you need to pay attention to that loss.  Creating a life that gives you the success you seek and the feelings you wish to experience truly does come down to your predominant thoughts, as well as your taking action on those thoughts.

As my second friend I spoke to will tell you, life is too precious and fleeting to dwell on the past.  By doing so, you allow yourself to stay victim to it.  By instead turning your energies to creating that which you do want, you will find in your path people, places and opportunities that will give you the same.  She knows, she's doing it right now and as she says, it seems like it is so easy when it does come.  When we select verses settle the types of success we experience in life and strive to have the balance associated with the same, we are in turn creating our happiness.

Really, at the end of the journey, what's going to matter anyway?  The peacefulness of knowing that the life you created was balanced, one where you lived the Golden Rule and creating abundance because of good deeds or will it be a life of emptiness and of the pain of regret, of loss and of never good enough attitudes that hurt others along the journey?  Take the time, be kind, reach out, be of service to each other and create success through listening and acting on your callings to do the same.

Manifesting 101: The Acknowledgement

Hard to believe it's already the middle of April.  The events of the last six weeks have been incredibly unbelievable.  As things evolve on the home front, things in other areas of my life have also been birthing into existence.  An abundance of blessings have been flowing amidst life's struggles.  As I catch my breath tonight and pause to write, I'm so very thankful for this opportunity to connect with you, to inspire you, and to let you know you're not alone out there on the journey.  Navigating my path and sharing the same has not been easy, but as with all things that push us out of our comfort zones, it's been richly rewarding having done so.

So, here I am, on a Friday night, counting down the minutes to my first ever national conference call as a guest speaker in my profession.  At about the same time that things shifted with Jennifer, I was asked by my Regional Manager to step into service leadership for our growing area.  In that I enjoy giving, I gladly accepted the offer to do so.  With that change of course came added responsibilities and challenges.  I'm a firm believer that God isn't going to bring you to someone or something without giving you the tools, resources and wherewithal to deal with it.  To say I was overwhelmed at first would be an understatement but as with any challenge I've faced, I knew I was going to conquer it.  It took a few weeks to get into the new flow of life but eventually I arrived.  That part of my path, coupled with a group of like minded leaders that I speak to each week via a conference call, falling upon the heels of a Speech Craft course thanks to Toastmasters International, ended up birthing the self confidence to take upon this challenge tonight.  It's one thing to do a conference call for those you know, your market place, etc.  It's a whole other monster to coordinate one that's broadcast and shared with the entire sales force in the US and Canada.  Oh yeah, I got this, even if I am directing that those butterflies fly in formation.  I wanted it, I manifested it, it's here so now it's time to ride it out.

Adding to these events has been my continued venture into whole foods, micro-nutrient foods, and making homemade juices.  That too has been life changing.  I started making juices at the end of January.  Since that time, my mind is clearer, I have amazing energy and other health issues have been subsiding.  I always understood that what you eat matters but to take it back to the basics of micro-nutrient goodness all of the time has been like no other shift I've ever made in my eating. It's not just my life that's changed though.  I've shared this part of the journey with some amazing ladies and gentlemen in a private group that we have on Facebook.  In fact, if you want to join us just send me a friends request and I'll add you to it.  We were all inspired by the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.  It's streaming on Netflix by the way and also free on Hulu's website.  It's been a lot of fun sharing this part of the path with them.  I just know you'll love the support we give each other too!

Then, just this past weekend I watched another miracle come to pass.  I watched as someone I love feel the peace the passes all understanding.  I watched a transformation, a letting go of what was for the acceptance of what is.  I cried tears of joy knowing that life as she knew it, as we knew it, was changing now and forever.  If life hadn't already blessed us beyond measure here recently, here we were experiencing yet another miracle.  I'm still without words thinking back to that moment.

Oh, but wait, life, my life, it really does get more interesting though.  As if all of that wasn't enough, the cherry on top has been the nagging realization that I do believe that something (read: someone) I've been meaning to manifest might in fact be coming to pass.  You see, in December of 2009 I took a leap of faith and created what I term "the list."  What is the list?  It's a long exercise in very deliberately writing down what you want in someone else to share the journey with you.  I've been happily single and sane for years.  Still am actually but nonetheless, I put the intention out there of what I wanted to bring into my life.  I even published it on my private blog January 1, 2010 and have edited it each year thereafter as my life has evolved.

This past December 31st though, when I went to edit the same, a dear friend who has access to see it made an observation that someone in my life the year prior appeared to be meeting many of the items written about on that list.  Hmmmm......oh wait, hold up, what did you say girly?  Repeat that please?  Have you been drinking?  I know you've been drinking!  Oh no, get out!!!! Let me go look at that right now, oh no, I don't care if it's going on 1am, hahaha.  After I picked up my mouth off of the floor, I sent her a text back to agree and rolled over in bed freaking out a bit.  She was right but there was one thing on the list I wasn't sure of.  By the next morning I had my answer to that mystery though.  Now, that would be when my head really started spinning.

What have I been doing since January of this year, now knowing what I know?  Avoiding it, running from it full throttle, throwing the idea around in my head, and oh yeaaaahhh, wishing I had added local to that list.  Te he!  Okay, but seriously, what if?  What if this person who came into my life 'just like that' is 'the one' I've been manifesting?  If they're not, I'm still good company for they're an awesome and wonderful friend.  Our energies are like no other.  Again though, WHAT IF?  Oh yes, interesting moments indeed.

Family, career, this blog, feeling great and a viable prospect (circumstances or not) of richly rewarding "bonus" happiness.  I say bonus because I'm a firm believer that one does not need another to find happiness, it comes from within.  My oh my, and it's only Spring!  Life is so, so good my friends and life is certainly abundantly blessed.  Keep believing, keep dreaming, and keep manifesting.  It's your turn to shine too!

God's Valentine to Me

The Law of Attraction, it is something that I make time for in my day to day living.  I have a sincere respect for it.  The roots of "believing" and "calling upon and acting as if things are already present" goes back thousands of years.  Many a man and woman have written about it, including various philosophies and religions around the world.  It is just one of those indisputable laws of life, like the law of gravity.

I practice it in the choices of the words I use, the images I look at, and the affirmations I speak daily.  It is not only weaved through out my day in that manner, it is also part of my conversations with God through prayer.  Despite all of this involvement with it, I am still surprised when that which I am affirming develops and comes to pass.  The latest example of this would be my thoughts about this year's Valentine's Day.  To understand the beauty of what happened, it would probably be helpful to share some personal history with you about the subject.

Valentine's Day to me is about love in general.  I have fond memories of exchanging cards in grammar school, buying fundraiser carnations for friends and crushes in middle school at Hayfield, and of sentimental moments in high school with lovers and friends.  My mom always made the day special growing up too, giving me some token of affection each February to show her love to me through the symbolism of the day.  As an adult though, I do not have many fond memories of the day.  I remember two or three of them where the person I was with acknowledged the day and sought to make it special with a card or my favorite chocolate.  This, despite the majority of my adult years being with significant others.  However, even with that disconnect with those persons, I always sought to make it special for my son and for the years I was with my step-daughter, her as well.  I like to think that as I miss her this year that she's remembering all of our Valentine's past, especially considering that this girl loves love as much as I do.  I am hopeful that she continues to live her life with her heart wide open, unscarred by the negativeness that surrounds her.  I'm also hopeful that despite the storms of her life, that she knows God and I's unconditional love for her.

As for how I celebrate the holiday in the present, the last few years of single life have revolved around love of myself, my family and my friends.  Do I wish to share the day with someone that meets the qualities of my "list?"  Sure, you betcha.  Am I ready for such a thing yet?  Um, no, not really.  As for that "list" I speak of, that's another topic for another day.  Accepting this truth and wanting to create a wonderful day nonetheless, I moved forward with the universe seeking two things to manifest...flowers and chocolate candy...and I don't even eat candy anymore.  I was affirming how happy and grateful I was for a Valentine from an unconditional source of love.  I was looking to God to create something magical for where I am on the journey right now.  So, what happened?  How did I end up with what I term a Valentine from God?

I was at a regional training for work Saturday.  These events always include a door raffle with the prizes awarded being books and supplies that we use for our business.  I was blessed to have my number called and win a Robert Kiyosaki book at that last one I attended so I wasn't expecting for lighting to strike twice.  Little did I know what was in store for me.  I won alright.  The prize?  A plastic light up flashing rose and a small heart shaped box of chocolates (which my son will be happy to receive here very soon, pictured above).  I just had to burst out laughing at what transpired.  Unbelievable and exactly what I intended, and in a way I certainly didn't see coming.

Happy Valentine's Day to me alright and Happy Valentine's Day to you as well.  If you don't have family, friends or a significant other that loves you unconditionally, know that God does.  If you are missing someone like I am missing my girl, know that I'm thinking of you and sending you love wherever you are.  In closing, if no one told you they love you today, receive it right now, right here, from me.  I love you.  You are precious.  You are beautiful and most of all, you are so worth the fight.

Connecting the Dots

There is nothing more to conquer; an ocean of peace lay before me.  To be free, as I knew myself to be, is to realize that all conquest is vain, even the conquest of self, which is the last act of egotism.  To be joyous is to carry the ego into its last summit and deliver it triumphantly.  To know peace is total: it is the moment after, when the surrender is complete, when there is no longer even the consciousness of surrender.  Peace is at the center and when it is attained the voice issues forth in praise and benediction.  Then the voice carries far and wide, to the outermost limits of the universe.  Then it heals because it brings the light and the warmth of compassion. - Henry Miller, The Colossus of Maroussi as spoken by Brandon Boyd at the introduction of the Incubus in Chili Film (YouTube)

Learning to create one's life if not taught how to do so productvely early on can be a challenge.  You have to scrub away false belief systems, you have to undo what's been done as you create new habits and practices.  It always boils down to free will and choice.  This is true.  It also boils down to your sense of worth.  When you know your worth and begin to develop it, you reach father, you expect more, you just do better because you know better.  Loved hearing those words from Maya Angelou.  It's completely relative, when you know better you do in fact do better.  If not, you're dying not living and what's the point in that?

There's this magic that happens when you start driving your own life though.  When you set out controlled intentions that are for your greater good, experiences bring circumstances into your life beyond explanation.  There is the orchestra of events, people, places and things that all connect beautifully.  All of a sudden you see the order of the dots.  Your mind races and you connect 1 with 2 and 2 with 3, so on and so forth.  I guess you could compare the sudden clarity to when you look at those hidden images that they used to sell in the mall.  You know the ones where you stand afar and wait to see what's really there as your eyes adjust?  Yep, it's just like that.

I'm watching the dots connect as of late.  Actions from inspired thoughts in the mid to late 90s lead to knowledge used a decade later on the path.  Actions I took in 2009 of inspired thought are bringing forth fruitful and rewarding friendships.  The ones in 2010 have opened up an entirely new area of my life, bringing forth some of the most amazing people I've yet to meet on the journey.  Oh yeah, even a few that make my head spin in joy.  Energy, it's an indisputable force.  Best part is, it's right there, right for you to tap into.

Get about the business of connecting your dots.  They're all relevant.  Step back, give them gratitude and see the big picture.  As for the baggage of any of it, just do your best to let the rest of it go.  The experience is what's relevant, not the baggage connected to the same.
